European Garden Book Prize
For the very first time Schloss Dennenlohe is awarding a "European Garden Book Prize”

The Deutschen Gartenbuchpreis (German Garden Book Prize) is now a firmly established event in the publishing calendar. Many representatives of German publishing companies can attest to the fact that the prize has resulted in garden books finally get the attention they deserve.
2011 marks the fifth awarding of this prize to the best garden publication in Germany. So, it’s time to take things a step further: next year will see the awarding of the very first European Garden Book Prize to a publication that would otherwise not have been eligible.
To be able to apply for the "European Garden Book Prize" award, the first edition of your publication must have be dated no earlier than the beginning of 2010 and the author must live in a current EU country. The “European Garden Book Prize“ is a trademark registered to Schloss Dennenlohe. A European jury will judge the books according to a range of criteria. The books can be submitted in the language in which it was first published.

The closing date for entries is 5th February 2011.
Deutschen Gartenbuchpreis awards are presented in the following categories: "Best Guide Book“, "Best Picture Book“, "Best Book of Garden History“, “Best Garden Travel Guide“ and “Best Garden Portrait“. For the first three years the "European Garden Book Prize“ will be awarded in just one category to make classification and subsequent marketing of the winning book easier for you as a publisher.
Following in the now well-established tradition, the "Best European Garden Book 2011“ will be announced at a soirée on 18th February 2011 at Schloss Dennenlohe.
In view of this, may we request that you send us the contact details of the authors of the books you are submitting by 10th January 2011 at the latest. Alternatively, please let us know by this date how many invitations you would require for the evening.
