Actual documents for the year 2016

The submission of books is entirely straightforward. We need six copies of your book for the jury of 2016.

Like in the previous years, the most beautiful garden books will be awarded in the following categories:

    "Best Guides"
    "Best book"
    "Best on garden history book"
    "Best Garden Guide"
    "Best garden or plants Portrait"
    "Best book in garden poetry or prose"
    New! "Best Garden Book for Children & Youth"

In one of these categories, you must arrange your book yourself and inform us about the category. However under certain circumstances the jury reserves the right books to be assigned after consultation with the publisher of a different category.

Since 2013 our sponsor Stihl has invented a special prize which will award books for exceptional performance and is endowed with € 5,000. This is not a regular category, were publishers or authors may apply. Many more will be selected by the jury individually from the total mass of all books, submitted by this price.

This year there will be two other special prizes of Stihl in a category of € 2,000 and € 3,000.

Furthermore there is the Reader's Choice Award with "My beautiful garden" from the Burda publishing house.

Requirements for book submission:

The book must have been published in Germany in 2015 or 2016 Editions of older works must have been approved in 2014, which will provided that the book has not yet been awarded.
