German Gardenbook Award

The submission of books is very straightforward. We need for the Jury your book please in six copies.

As in previous years, the most beautiful garden books are awarded in the following categories:

    "Best Guides"
    "Best book"
    "Best book on garden history"
    "Best Garden Guide"
    "Best garden or plants Portrait"
    "Best Garden Book for Children & Youth"
    "Best book for garden Prose & Poetry"
    Special Category: Garden - Blogs

In one of these categories, you must please arrange your book yourself and tell us the category. However, the jury reserves the right books, may be assigned after checking with the publisher in a different category.

Our Sponsor Stihl has also awarded three special awards for outstanding achievements that are endowed with 5,000 € 3,000 € and 2,000 €. This is not to regular categories for the publishers or authors may apply. Much more those prices are individually selected and awarded by the jury of the total mass of all submitted books.

The Burda Verlag has again a Reader's Choice Award with "My Beautiful Garden" awarded in which a reading jury selects the best advisers.

Requirements for book submission:

The book must be published in German in 2022/2023th Editions of older works or license Prints are permitted, provided that the book has not yet been awarded.

Also in 2023, we will charge a tiered advertising expenses allowance of € 400 for the respective 1st place, € 350 for the 2nd & 3rd place € 300 for the first three places in each category. With this grant we fund community advertisements and posters in the wake of the German and European Garden Book Prize.

Each winning book (1st place in each category) of the German & European garden book price we please each require 6 additional copies for the subsequent press work. The winning books should be sent within one week, after the ceremony, to us:

The winners will be announced in the context of already become a tradition Soirée at Castle Dennenlohe on 10th March 2023. The evening will be the presented by Eva Grünbauer SAT 1.
